Habitat:
beneath tamarack. Rich wet forest with tamarack, black spruce, jack pine. Deep loamy black soil. Nearby wet area, bog birch, Potentilla fruticosa, wet seeps. Hydrology altered (channeled or trenched). Forest probably converted from sedge meadow. Carex castanea, Cornus canadensis, Zizia aurea, Anemone canadensis.
