Habitat: small meadow-like patches of vegetation dominated by Scirpus cespitosus on margins of rock pools...In storm-wave zone on upper portion of southeasterly-tilted, much-fractured, broad basalt shelf 20-25 feet above lake level. Full sun. Associates include Primula mistassinica, Pinguicula vulgaris, Solidago ptarmicoides, Aster umbellatus, Malaxis unifolia, Prenanthes alba, Drosera rotundifolia, Tofieldia pusilla, Alnus viridis, Potentilla fruticosa.
