Gently-rolling terrain of the Nimrod drumlin plain ... tamarack swamp in inter-drumlin wetland complex ... Fairly dense canopy dominated by Larix laricina. patchy understory dominated by Alnus incana. Saturated peat; typically on hummocks around tree bases and on other raised microsites. In carpets of Sphagnum spp. and feathermosses. Associated species include Carex disperma, C. trisperma, C. leptalea, C. paupercula, Cinna latifolia, Rubus pubescnes, Impatiens capensis, Thelypteris palustris, Trientalis borealis, Campanula aparinoides, Moneses uniflora, Lycopus uniflorus, Aster borealis, Cornus stolonifera, Rhamnus alnifolia, Ledum groenlancidum.
