Habitat: Rolling forested terrain ...in the understory of wet-mesic to wet forest near the public water access. Patchy canopy of mature Abies balsamea with scattered Populus tremuloides. Dense understory dominated by Alnus incana, with scattered Sorbus decora, Viburnum trilobum, Fraxinus nigra, Cornus stolonifera, and Acer spicatum. Additional associates include Rhamnus alnifolia, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Rubus pubescens, Cypripedium reginae.
