Habitat:
Rolling terrain of the Clarissa drumlin plain ... in broad ecotonal band between tamarack swamp and mesic hardwood forest. Patchy canopy of Fraxinus nigra, Ulmus americana, and Larix laricina. Patchy understory of F. nigra, U. americana, and Alnus incana. Moist organic substrate. partial shade. Associated species include Carex lacustris, Glyceria striata, Calamagrostis canadensis, Thelypteris palustris, Aster puniceus, Caltha palustris, Galium asprellum, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Lycopus uniflorus, Ribes hirtellum, Rhamnus alnifolia.
