Habitat: in moist soil in small seepage swamp along base of 230ft, north-facing slope; Open canopy composed of Fraxinus nigra, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. alba & Acer saccharum. Associates include Carex gracillima, C. radiata, C. laevivaginata, C. stipata, C. interior, C. hysteracina, Glyceria striata, Equisetum pratense, E. hyemale, Galium asprellum, Caltha palustris, Campanula aparinoides.
