Habitat: In low area surrounded by rolling hills; 30 acre tamarack swamp dominated by Lrix laricina. on mossy hummocks around tree bases. Associates include Ribes hirtellum, Rhamnus alnifolia, Viburnum trilobum, Cornus stolonifera, Toxicodendron rydbergii, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera hyperborea, Thelypteris palustris, Rubus pubescens, impatiens capensis, Caltha palustris, Carex leptalea.
