Habitat: Tamarack Swamp on floating mat severed by [hwy]; Fairly sparse canopy of Larix laricina. Rather dense tall shrub layer dominated by Betula glandulifera. In continuous carpet of Sphagnum. Sunny areas. Associates include Salix pedicellaris, Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, C. canescens, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Menyanthes trifoliata, Calopogon tuberosus, Platanthera lacera, Potentilla palustris, Thelypteris palustris.
