Habitat: Seepage-fed wetland complex in rather strongly-rolling forested terrain ... in small (1/2-acre) rich spring fen opening in tamarack - black spruce swamp. Full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina and Picea mariana. Quaky saturated peat fed by groundwater; wetter than adjacent conifer swamp. Interrupted carpets of Sphagnum spp. and various Bryales mosses ... Associated species include Carex lasiocarpa, C. limosa, C. interior, C. livida, Muhlenbergia glomerata Phragmites australis, Parnassia palustris, Lobelia kalmii, Sarracenia purpurea, Menyanthes trifoliata, Utricularia minor, Triglochin maritima, Salix candida.
