Habitat:
in small, dry prairie remnant in broad right-of-way ... Full sun. Level outwash sand. Associated species include Poa pratensis, Sorghastrum nutans, Sporobolus heterolepis, Schizachrium [sic] scoparium Andropogon gerardii, Petalostemum [sic] purpureum, P. candidum, Liatris punctata, L. aspera, Solidago rigida, Penstemon grandiflorus, Aster ericoides, Amorpha canescens.
