Habitat: Gently rolling drumlin terain ... Rich conifer swamp forming the headwaters of Cat Creek. Occasional, forming large clumps in area of sparse canopy. Partial shade of Larix laricina. Saturated peat, often in wet troughs between mossy hummocks. Associated species include Iris versicolor, Caltha palustris, Potentilla palustris, Calla palustris, Impatiens capensis, Thelypteris palustris, Rumex orbiculatus, Campanula aparinoides, Stellaria longifolia, Smilacina trifolia, Lysimachia thyrisiflora, Calamagrostis canadensis, Betula glandulifera.
