Habitat: On very steep, 50ft, east-facing slope of esker ... in mature pine stand dominated by large Pinus strobus, P. resinosa & Betula papyrifera. Dry, rocky soil. Associated species include Acer rubrum, A. spicatum, Abies balsamea, Corylus cornuta, Gaultheria procumbens, Diervilla lonicera, Vaccinium angustifolium, V. myrtilloides, Cornus canadensis, Pyrola secunda, Aralia nudicaulis, Goodyera tesselata.
