Habitat: boggy, floating sedge mat around the margin of a shallow, marly lake. Canopy varies from rather dense to quite open stands of Larix laricina. Wet, mossy hummocks including Sphagnum. Asociated species include Carex leptalea, C. paupercula, Sagittagia [sic] latifolia, Campanula aparinoides, Caltha palustris, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Pyrola rotundifolia, Cypripedium reginae, Platanthera hyperbora.
