Habitat: wet meadow dominated by Calamagrostis canadensis, with frequent Carex lacustris. Semi-saturated, highly-decomposed peat; drier than normal due to extended drought. Full sun. Additional associates include Polygonum amphibium var. emersum, Campanula aparinoides, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Scutellaria galericulata, Lathyrus palustris, Cicuta bulbifera, Rumex orbiculatus, Galium trifidum, Caltha palustris, Aster borealis, Asclepias incarnata, Saix petiolaris.
