Small prairie remnant in unplowed area of pioneer cemetery (circa 1849). Gradual west-facing slope overlooking broad outwash plain ... Full sun. Dark sandy soil. Associates include Dicanthelium leibergii, Poa pratensis, Koeleria macrantha, Schizachrium scoparium, Stipa spartea, Sorghastrum nutans, Artemesia ludoviciana, Penstemon gracilis, Geum triflorum, Commandra umbellata, Heuchera richardsonii, Potentilla arguta, Polygonatum biflorum, Physalis virginiana, Euphorbia cyparissias, Prunus pumila.
