Habitat: small kettle-hole bog (poor fen) in strongly-rolling wooded terrain; in wet Sphagnum on floating sedge mat. In full sun to partial shade of stunted Larix laricina. Associates include Carex lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, C. limosa,Dulichium arundinaceum, Eriophorum chamissonis, E. angustifolium, Andromeda glaucophylla, Vaccinium macrocarpon, Drosera rotundifolia, Pogonia ophioglossoides, Scheuchzeria palustris, Salix pedicelalris, S. pyrifolia.
