Habitat: Large conifer wetland complex ... rich conifer swamp. Canopy dominated by Picea mariana, often with Larix laricina, Abies balsamea, and locally Thuja occidentalis. Spahgnum and feathermoss carpets. Deep, saturated peat. Additional asscociates include Platanthera obtusata, Mitella nuda, Listera cordata, Cornus canadensis, Circaea alpina, Trientalis borealis, Moneses uniflora, Coptis groenlandica, Carex leptalea, C. disperma, Acer spicatum.
