Habitat: Gently rolling drumlin terrain ... tamarack swamp ... Canopy dominated by Larix laricina. Partial sun to full shade. Saturated peat. Associatd species inclde Thelypteris palustris, Smilacina trifolia, Potentilla palustris, Cypripedium reginae, Mitella nuda, Rubus pubescens, Galium triflorum, Saxifraga pennsylvanica, Carex disperma, C. leptalea, Betula glandulifera, Ledum groenlandicum, Ribes hirtellum.
