Habitat: In an open-canopy bur oak woodland with a brushy understory ... Associated with Lonicera tatarica, Zanthoxylum americanum, Cornus stolonifera.
Description: Fruits red, soft, L=0.95-1.35 cm, W=1.05-1.45 cm; nutlets 4. a large shrub with 5 stems, each up to 5.2 m tall, and 5-7 cm diameter. Stamens about 10, anthers white. No compound thorns, simple thorns numerous. Collected from same stem as WRS26591 (flowering specimen).
