Habitat: Occurring within a wet meadow edge to a large meadow/rich fen complex ... Most commonly found within slightly disturbed pathways caused by deer traffic and off-road vehicle use. Associated with Juncus brevicaudatus, Polygala sanguinea, P. cruciata, Viola lanceolata, Carex cryptolepis, Carex lasiocarpa, Carex buxbaumii, Xyris torta, Fimbristylis autumnalis, Rubus spp., and Polygonum spp. Several hundred plants occurring along saturated margins of 40-acre wetland.
