Habitat: In tiny (~1/2-acre) prairie remnant along road. Mostly in more mesic portions of prairie. Full sun. Coarse sandy soil. Associates include: Bouteloua curtipendula, Schizachrium scoparium, Andropogon gerardii, Spartina pectinata, Panicum virgatum, Artemisia frigida, Achillea millefolium, Asclepias syriaca, Solidago rigida, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. rigidus, Allium stellatum, Petalostemum purpureum, Toxicodendron rydbergii.
