Habitat: In low area. On sheltered, gentle slope, in dense shade; soil is loamy fine sand. Canopy of Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, Quercus americana, Acer rubrum. Other associates include Symphyotrichum lateriflorum, Athyrium filix-femina, Thalictrum dioicum, Maianthemum canadense, Aralia nudicaulis, Toxocodendron radicans.
Description: Approx. 15-20 trees; all multi-stemmed.
