Habitat: West-facing, ~5-10 degrees. Open, dry jack pine woodland; on sandy soil. Associates include abundant Pteridium aquilinum, as well as Galium boreale, Dichanthelium perlongum, Danthonia spicata, Melampyrum lineare, Oryzopsis pugens
Description: Rare, only one clump seen; mostly deer-browsed.
