Habitat: Shore edge meadow ; growing in ecotone between unvegetated beach and mixed forest, within 1.5m of the water at this date. In gravelly and organic substrate among angular cobbles and driftwood. Associates: Petasites frigidus var. sagittatus, Platanthera huronensis, Eutrochium maculatum, Calamagrostis canadensis, Lycopus americana, Myrica gale, Symphyotrichum lanceolatum, Mentha arvensis, Triadenum fraseri, Dulichium arundinaceum.
Description: Locally common; 4m deep, 40m long band.
