Habitat: A sandy bench. In the understory of an oak woodland dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis. In dry sandy soil, and partial shade. Associated with Corylus americana, Salix humilis, Amelanchier laevis, A. interior.
Description: A small tree with 3 stems, the largest 5.5 m tall, and 7 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth. Leaves moderately bronze-tinged. Ovaries essentially glabrous. Non-clonal.
