Habitat: In the understory of an open woodland dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis and Pinus banksiana. In dry sandy soil, and partial shade. Associated with Salix humilis, Amelanchier arborea, A. humilis, A. interior, Corylus americana.
Description: A small non-clonal tree with 3 stems, the largest 5 m tall, 5 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth. Ovaries glabrous. Fruits red, globular, 7-11 mm dia. From same stem as #27649.
