Habitat: In understory of mesic pine-hardwood forest. In thin rocky soil. Associated with Betula papyrifera, Pinus resinosa, Populus tremuloides, Amelanchier arborea.
Description: A small slender tree with 2 stems, the largest 4.2 m tall, and 3 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth. Ovaries glabrous. Leaves moderately bronze-tinged. From same stem as #27663.
