Habitat: In mature pine/oak woodland dominated by Pinus banksiana and Quercus ellipsoidalis. Dry sandy soil, in area of high water table. Associated with Corylus americana, C. cornuta, Alnus viridis ssp. crispa, Prunus pensylvanica.
Description: A large non-clonal shrub with stems to 5.8 m tall, and 4 cm dbh. Bark gray, smooth; ovaries nearly glabrous. From same stem as #27687 and #27983.
