Habitat: In pine-oak woodland dominated by Pinus banksiana and Quercus ellipsoidalis. In dry sandy soil. Associated with Corylus americana, C. cornuta, Salix humilis, Alnus viridis ssp. crispa.
Description: A shrub with 8 stems, the largest 5.8 m tall, and 4 cm dbh. Non-clonal. Bark gray, smooth. Ovaries nearly glabrous. From same stem as #27983 and #27937.
