Habitat: In a brushy thicket at the edge of an aspen clone. In moist loamy soil, partial shade. Associated with Prunus virginiana, Amelanchier humilis, Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, Prunus pensylvanica.
Description: A single-stemmed individual 1.8 m tall, 1 cm basal diameter. No sign of rhizomatous growth. Inflorescence drooping.
