Habitat: In large shrub swamp - wet meadow complex fed by groundwater seepage, on sloping terrace below 150-foot bluffs ... in sedge meadow and willow swamp. In full sun to partial shade of Salix discolor, S. eriocephala, Cornus stolonifera, and Betula glandulifera. Saturated peat. Associated species include Carex stricta, C. lacustris, Thelypteris palustris, Solidago canadensis, Eupatorium maculatum, Helianthus giganteus, Asclepias incarnata.
