Habitat: In an open oak-aspen woodland, dry sandy soil, partial shade. Site dominated by Dominated by Quercus ellipsoidalis and Populus tremuloides. Associated with Rhus radicans var. rydbergii, Amelanchier laevis, Salix humilis, Rubus allegheniensis, R. occidentalis.
Description: Floricane 2.4 m long, trailing half its length and rooting at nodes and tip. Primocane 60 cm long and arching.
