Locality: United States, South Dakota, Roberts, About 10 miles north-northwest of Summit. Prairie Coteau. Far northeastern portion of fen. Alto Township, NE4 SE4 of section;;123N;52W;11
Habitat: Approximately 15+ acre rich fen occurs in a basin in a pasture. The soil is mapped as Marsh (Mr), but it is actually a muck (medisaprist). Much of the fen appears to be a floating mat dominated by Carex aquatilis and Carex prairea or Salix spp. Eriophorum gracile is associated with Aster junciformis, Caltha palustris, Campanula aparinoides, Carex prairea, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Salix candida and Typha angustifolia.
Description: 2000+ ramets. The fruits are dispersing and the bristles are white.
