Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. bipartitus, Eleocharis acicularis, E. palustris, Carex viridula, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Agrostis scabra, Juncus pelocarpus, Lobelia kalmii, Erechtites hieraciifolius, Bidens cernua, B. tripartita, Conyza canadensis.
