Habitat: Local, occasional in narrow zone along the water's edge. Wet sand. Full sun most of the day. Associated species include Eleocharis palustris, Carex hysteracina, Juncus interior, J. brevicaudatus, Agrostis scabra, A. stolonifera, Leersia oryzoides, Phalaris arundinacea, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Agalinus paupercula, Cicuta bulbifera, Lysimachia thyrsiflora, Scutellaria lateriflora, Lycopus uniflorus, Plantago major.
