Associates include Cyperus squarrosus, C. diandrus, C. odoratus, Scirpus atrovirens, Eleocharis intermedia, Panicum philadelphicum, Zizania palustris, Eragrostis hypnoides, Echinochloa muricata, Lindernia dubia, Rumex fueginus, Mollugo verticellata, Stellaria media, Verbena hastata, Persicaria lapathifolia, Bidens cernua, Stachys palustris, Veronica catenata, and seedlings of Acer
