Habitat: Gently-rolling drumlin plain. Local in conifer swamp in fairly extensive inter-drumlin peatland complex. Frequent in alder swamp on outer margin of wetland. Shaded beneath fairly dense Alnus incana. Saturated peat. Forming sparse clumps. Associated species include Calamagrostis canadensis, Urtica dioica, Impatiens capensis, Galium asprellum, Thelypteris palustris, Stellaria longifolia, Aster puniceus, Dryopteris cristata, Carex disperma.
