Habitat: Recently logged area (clear-cut) on gentle slopes of a sandy drumlin. Occasional in open sand along parallel shallow disc trenches plowed through the sod of the former jack pine woodland to prepare the area for planting nursery grown Pinus resinosa seedlings. These plants also survived herbicide treatment, or colonized this area soon thereafter. Full sun. Associates include Poa pratensis, Cyperus houghtonii, Koeleria macrantha, Galium boreale, Cirsium arvense, C. vulgare, Carduus acanthoides, Geranium bickn
