Habitat: Sandy outwash plain. Locally abundant in small (~1/4-acre) pond in tamarack swamp. Forming dense floating mats on outer margins the pond (which is surrounded by a narrow zone of rich sedge fen). In full sun. Associated species include Utricularia vulgaris, U. minor.
