Habitat: Infrequent in small slack backwater slough (at the mouth of an overflow channel). Full sun. Silty-sand substrate. Submerged in water ~2-4 feet deep, inflorescence slightly emergent. Associated species include Potamogeton richardsonii, P. obtusifolius, Stuckenia pectinata, Sagittaria cuneata, Elodea canadensis.
