Habitat: Occasional in small slack backwater slough (at the mouth of an overflow channel). Also in moderate current in nearby main channel. Full sun. Silty-sand substrate. Submerged in water ~2-4 feet deep. Associated species include Potamogeton richardsonii, P. zosteriformis, Stuckenia pectinata, Sagittaria cuneata, Elodea canadensis.
