Habitat: Large wetland complex. Infrequent in tamarack swamp surrounding a narrow bog pond. Most plants occur in loose patches in the narrow transition zone between the pond and the tamaracks. Canopy interrupted here, dominated by immature Larix laricina. Scattered Alnus incana in understory. Saturated peat. In Sphagnum moss carpets. Associates include Carex interior, C. prairea, C. disperma, C. leptalea, C. gynocrates, C. lasiocarpa, Aster borealis, Thelypteris palustris, Campanula aparinoides, Drosera rotundifolia
