Habitat: Rolling forested moraine. Occasional in mesic hardwood forest. Canopy varies from young and even-aged Populus tremuloides, to more mature Quercus rubra, Tilia americana, and Acer rubrum. Understory of Ostrya virginiana, Acer saccharum, and Corylus cornuta. Sandy-loam.
