Habitat: Level outwash plain. Frequent locally in alluvial forest. Canopy dominated by Tilia americana and Fraxinus nigra, with scattered Quercus macrocarpa. Understory of Fraxinus nigra, Tilia americana, Ulmus americana, and Zanthoxylum americanum. Loamy silt, with abundant earthworms.
