Habitat: Rolling forested moraine. Local. Scattered loose patches on exposed muck and peat mats floating in shallow water (~3 feet deep). In full sun. Associated species include Dulichium arundinaceum, Eleocharis ovata, Carex crawfordii, Schoenoplectus purshianus, Juncus brevicaudatus, Typha x glauca, Utricularia vulgaris, U. minor, Nymphaea odorata, Brasenia schreberi, Bidens tripartita.
