Habitat: Level outwash plain. Occasional in small (~1-acre) opening in tamarack swamp. Full sun to partial shade beneath scattered Larix laricina (most trees dead locally), and also Alnus incana and Betula glandulifera in fairly dense shrub layer here. Quaky saturated peat. This opening is somewhat wetter than surrounding tamarack swamp (where Lysimachia thyrsiflora also occurs). Additional associates here include Carex limosa, C. prairea, C. canescens, C. interior, C. paupercula, C. chordorrhiza, Glyceria grandis,
