Rolling drumlin plain. Occasional in poor conifer swamp in inter-drumlin peatland. Full sun to partial shade under patchy canopy dominated by Larix laricina, with rare Picea mariana. Canopy more open here (~20 acres) than the rest of this ~60-acre patch of tamarack swamp. Deep saturated peat. Continuous carpets of Sphagnum and Polytrichum mosses. Forming dense clumps.
