Habitat: In strongly rolling forested moraine. Frequent. On sand and small cobble beach ~6-18 inches above the water along wave-washed shoreline. Full sun. Associated species include Agalinus paupercula, Ranunculus flammula, Bidens cernua, B. tripartita, Lobelia kalmii, Conyza canadensis, Juncus pelocarpus, Eleocharis acicularis, E. palustris, Cyperus strigosus, C. squarrosus, C. bipartitus, Carex viridula, Dichanthelium acuminatum, Agrostis scabra.
