Habitat: In rolling drumlin plain. Very locally abundant on the margins of a ditch and other open water pools in a degraded creekside wetland. Full sun. Moist organic substrate. Forming quite dense patches. Associated species include Phalaris arundinacea, Scirpus atrovirens, Carex stipata, Typha x glauca, Alisma triviale.
