Level outwash plain. Occasional locally in rich conifer swamp. Interrupted canopy, locally dominated by Larix laricina, with a few Picea mariana. Large clumps, in ~one-acre area with subtle surface/subsurface groundwater flow. Saturated peat. In continuous Sphagnum carpets.
